Lunch Menu and Milk

Delicious!

Our skilful kitchen staff at St. Veronica's provide nutritious and balanced meals to our children through Lancashire County Council's primary school meals provision known as "Fresher."

The menu is provided below for your convenience, and you can be assured that your child is receiving freshly prepared meals each day using locally sourced ingredients.

The "Fresher" menu has been designed to meet the specific nutritional needs of primary school children and ensures that they receive a balanced diet that includes a variety of foods from different food groups.  The menu consists of a range of delicious and healthy options, including meat, fish, vegetarian, and vegan options.  Each meal is accompanied by a selection of vegetables, fruit, and a salad bar, providing children with the necessary nutrients to maintain a healthy diet.

The meals are also free from artificial additives, preservatives, and colourings.  This not only ensures that children are eating a healthy diet, but also helps to develop their taste for real, fresh food.

We recognise the importance of healthy eating in supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of our children.  We actively promote healthy eating habits through our curriculum and we encourage children to make healthy choices.  We are proud to be a part of Lancashire County Council's "Fresher" provision and for our children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 it is free.  For our Key Stage 2 children the cost of school dinners is only £2.50 per day but there are free school dinners available to children from qualifying households, so that no child goes hungry.  At St Veronica's, we respect a parent's choice to send their child with a packed lunch, but we would always strongly encourage that it be a healthy and balanced meal, promoting positive eating habits for their own child and their peers.

If you have any queries or suggestions, or perhaps would like to share reasons why you are unable to take up our school dinner service, please contact us so that we have an opportunity to address any concerns.

School Milk

In addition to our Fresher menu at dinner time, Milk4Life is a service that our school utilises for parents who wish their children to enjoy fresh cold milk each day.  Milk is delivered directly to the school and it is an easy way for parents and carers to encourage their children to drink milk, just like how they did at school.  The cost is a little over £8 per half term which equates to under £50 for the full school year!
