Discover our School

We are St Veronica's...

and we are a Catholic primary school located in the beautiful scenic setting of Helmshore, Rossendale, England.

Nestled in the rolling hills of Lancashire, our school boasts stunning views of the surrounding countryside, which provide a peaceful and tranquil environment for children to learn and grow.

We place a strong emphasis on the development of values within our Mission Statement such as trying our best, being respectful, showing compassion and being a caring and friendly member of our school.  Our Catholic ethos permeates school life and our children are encouraged to live out our values in their daily interactions with others.

We achieve great things...

and we are rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted.  We are committed to providing a well-rounded education that focuses on academic excellence and personal development.  Our highly qualified and experienced teachers are dedicated to ensuring that every child reaches their full potential and our children consistently achieve high results in both national and school assessments.

We provide wrap-around care, for when you need it...

and we offer both before and after school clubs that provide a safe and stimulating environment for children outside of normal school hours.  Our clubs offer a range of activities such as sports and fitness, arts and crafts, music and drama and homework clubs.  The benefits of our clubs are numerous; for children it gives them opportunity to make new friends, develop new skills, and enhance their social and emotional well-being and for parents, they provide a cost-effective, consistent and supportive place for your child.  You'll also go to work in the knowledge your child has had a nutritious breakfast to start the day; or alternatively, come home from work knowing they shouldn't be pushing you for that unhealthy after-school snack!

We invest in technology...

and computing plays a significant role in enhancing the learning experience of our children.

We are always bringing in new technology and our computing and digital resources allow pupils to participate in interactive activities that bring learning to life.

Children are also taught how to use tools and software, starting the development of essential digital literacy skills that are vital for success in today's digital world.

At St Veronica's, we use TheSchoolApp, which is compatible with both Apple and Android devices, to keep you informed about your child's daily calendar, information, and announcements.  Further, you can sync our calendar to your smartphone or desktop.  Additionally, ParentPay is utilised to make the payment process for school dinners and trips a breeze with just a single click.  Facebook is our primary means of getting you frequent access to the classroom; After all, we all like seeing our children learning and having fun with friends!

We've got it all covered.

We know it's not just about academic development...

and we are committed to promoting physical health and well-being.  The school provides a range of sports and fitness activities that encourage students to lead an active lifestyle and develop healthy habits that will stay with them throughout their lives.

St Veronica's also has a strong sense of community, and parents are actively encouraged to be involved in their child's education.  The school regularly hosts parents evenings and provides opportunities for parents to volunteer and participate in school activities.  This partnership between parents and teachers ensures that our children receive the best possible education and support.

We also have staff who specialise in SEND...

and we understand that every child is unique and has different learning needs.  We have a dedicated team of staff who specialise in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to ensure that every child receives the support they need to thrive.  Our staff are experienced in working with a wide range of needs, from moderate to severe, and we have a variety of strategies and programmes in place to support our children.  Our SENDCO (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) works closely with teachers and parents to identify and assess any areas of need and to develop tailored plans to support each child's progress.  We pride ourselves on our inclusive approach and we work hard to ensure that every child, regardless of their needs, feels supported and valued within our school community.

In summary...

St Veronica's is a small, family school that offers more.  We provide abundant opportunity, top-notch teaching, continual access to music and sports and our results speak for themselves.  Our commitment to our children is unwavering and we strive to ensure that they receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for success in all aspects of life.
