It has been brought to my attention today that some parents have been taking photographs and/or recording assemblies at school. In some cases, these have been shared on Social Media.
This contravenes our Safeguarding Policy and Procedures.
I thought this would be a good opportunity to share the relevant section of our policy – the policy in full is available on our website:
“ST VERONICA’S R C PRIMARY SCHOOL
Whole School Policy on Safeguarding and Child Protection 2017-18
12. USE OF MOBILE PHONES ANDCAMERAS
‘Children have their photographs taken to provide evidence of their achievements for developmental records (The Early Years Foundation Stage, EYFS 2014). Staff, visitors, volunteers and students are not permitted to use their own mobile phones to take or record any images of children for their own records during session times.’
‘We advise parents that it is school policy that recording/photographing events such as sports day, outings/trips, and Christmas and fundraising events is not allowed..’”
The safety of all children here, at St Veronica’s is our primary concern and I ask that you support us in this matter.
