HOME SCHOOL LEARNING

Dear Parents & Children,

Welcome to the start of our summer term. I trust you are all safe and well and enjoyed your Easter break with your family. It is now time to return to doing more structured schoolwork, even though sadly, we still cannot return to our daily routines in school. Nevertheless, it is very important that you are prepared educationally for secondary school.

Therefore, over the next four weeks, leading up to and during SAT’s week, I will be setting the type of work for you to complete that we would be doing in school. Maths and English will involve mainly revision, some new learning and will reinforce much of the work you have already covered with some interesting mathematical challenging activities along the way. There will be other work set as well in Science, Geography or History and in RE.

I will be setting this work for you each week and it is very important that you do your very best to complete it. You can email me your completed work and/or any questions you or your parents may have. I will look at our class email accounts daily and will try very hard to get back to you the same day.

To access your reading activities, you need to log onto https://www.lovereading4kids.co.uk The login is Year6@st-veronicas.lancs.sch.uk and the password is password (all lower case) and go to the 9-11 age group. You can also put a search in for the book at the top of the page.

You might also want to log onto https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk    and click on “My class login’ (a red box at the top of the page). Our login is stvyear6 and the password is password. Here you can access short stories and novels including some classics.

Meanwhile – enjoy learning, make a start right now and remember if you get stuck, I’m here to help!

Looking forward to hopefully seeing you all soon,

Mr. Barnacle.
